How to set up a free autoresponder to make a squeeze page

Couple of days ago, I set out to make a video tutorial on how to set-up a free autoresponder to make a squeeze page (otherwise known as a landing or a capture page).  It wasn't terribly hard to do...  Although the search for a proper screen recorder kind of gave me a headache.  Of course you have your venerable Camtasia, but you also have other options such as the excellent BB Flashback.

BB Flashback comes in three (3) flavors: Express (FREE), Standard, and Pro.  I first downloaded and installed the free version and it works like a charm.  Only thing is, you can't add annotations or add text boxes or effects to hide private information that might appear on screen while you're recording away.  Standard and Pro are the way to go if you're serious about this.  Head on over to their website to take a gander.

Another potentially promising piece of free software is Camstudio.  I can't say anything about it until I've actually installed and tried it, but it's sitting on my hard drive just waiting for me.  Maybe I'll write about my experiences with it next time.

On to my video tutorial then.  Minimal preparation, no scripts.  It's rather obvious when you watch it, too.  However, I gather it's not that bad.  I have a lot of "okay?" and "alright" and "uhmmm" and throat-clearing sounds, but the message, I believe, was successfully conveyed.  If you want to watch it, here's the link.

Unfortunately, I have a really old laptop, so the software (trial version of BB Flashback Standard) did something weird to my screen that made it scroll all the way down with no way to stop it.  End result: the video was 13 minutes long, and 8GB heavy.  I had to find a way to edit the video (because you'll hear me ranting and saying all kinds of stuff just to pass the time while waiting for the screen to scroll all the way down) and whittle it down to a size that Youtube would accept (2GB or less).

Fortunately, I have Zwei-Stein, a free video editor you can download off the internet.  It let me cut off the frames I didn't need, and it did so without nary a hiccup.  Also by divine providence, I was able to secure a trial copy of the software called AVS Video Converter, which shaved off A LOT of weight from my file.  Final file size without any significant quality loss: 25MB.  I'm a happy camper, so to speak.

So my video tutorial is up and running in Youtube.  The only thing left is for people to watch it and learn from it.  I hope you'll do me the honor of taking a look.  Learn how to set-up freeautobot, a free autoresponder, to make a squeeze page, for your list-building activities, on your quest for financial freedom as an internet marketer!

To your success,

Jon
